Eda Rhyne Amaro Flora is the most delicate and approachable expression in the Asheville distillery's lineup — and the one that best captures the floral, wildflower side of Appalachian terroir that makes this part of Western North Carolina so botanically extraordinary. Referred to by the distillery as a "mountain bitter," Amaro Flora is built on the lighter, more ethereal end of the amaro spectrum — earthy roots and bark bitterness balanced with the invigorating fragrance of wild flowers foraged from the Blue Ridge Mountain slopes surrounding the distillery. Drinkhacker describes it as having notes of tree bark, pencil lead, and chalk that impart an almost hop-like sharpness, turning floral with wet grass and dandelions as it opens up in the glass — complex enough to reward serious attention but genuinely refreshing enough to convert amaro skeptics. Like all Eda Rhyne expressions, the botanicals are a mix of wild-crafted mountain plants and ingredients grown on owner Rett Murphy's farm, using folk knowledge passed down through generations of Appalachian herbalism. Fortified with non-GMO corn distillate and produced in small batches with no artificial additives — a truly unique expression of a place that could only come from the mountains of North Carolina. Sip neat after dinner, over ice with soda, or use in a Negroni variation for an Appalachian twist on the Italian classic. Buy Eda Rhyne Amaro Flora online with fast shipping right to your door.
