Bosscal Mezcal Damiana｜ Other Products

Damiana is a flowering shrub that grows alongside agave in the mountains of Durango, and Mexican folk tradition has considered it an aphrodisiac and a tonic for stamina for centuries. Bosscal put it in the still. The family-run Durango house — whose fourth-generation mezcalero Uriel Simental Enríquez hand-selects wild, organic, mountain-grown Agave durangensis on a "mountain to market" philosophy — bases it on its A-rated organic Joven and adds damiana flowers during the second distillation, so the herb's character is distilled into the spirit rather than infused after, bottled at around 42% ABV in a hand-blown bottle shaped like the region's volcanic tufa rock. Bosscal describes it as crisp and smooth with herbal notes from the damiana flower. Expect the Joven's clean, citrusy, lightly smoked durangensis character with a distinct herbal layer — something between chamomile, green tea, and a faint honeyed floral — threaded through, finishing smooth with a lingering botanical note. Honest note: this is a flavored mezcal in the sense that a botanical gin is flavored — the herb is a distilled ingredient, not a sweetener — and it's built for drinkers who want their mezcal with a story. For a Mezcal Negroni with an herbal edge, a Damiana Margarita, or neat as a digestif with a purpose, it's the most unusual bottle in Bosscal's Full Moon Pack. Organic, wild, and reputedly good for the heart.Buy Bosscal Mezcal Damiana online with fast shipping right to your door.
