Traigh Bhan Batch 5 is the 2023 edition of Ardbeg's annual nineteen-year-old — named for the singing-sands beach on Islay, bottled under a full moon — and Drinkhacker graded it B+ for smoky bacon and campfire turning tropical: pineapple, baked apple, Meyer lemon. Ardbeg has distilled on the Kildalton coast since 1815 and was rescued by Glenmorangie in 1997 — LVMH owns both now — with Dr. Bill Lumsden directing the whisky; Traigh Bhan, launched 2019, is the distillery's age-stated annual: nineteen-year Ardbeg from ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, a different proportion each year with the recipe on the label, bottled at 46.2% without chill filtration.
