Yggdrasil is the World Tree of Norse mythology — the ash whose branches hold the nine realms — and Askur Yggdrasil is a Nordic-inspired London Dry that VinePair has named among the 30 best gins in the world two years running, calling it a dazzling expression of the style that over-delivers for its price. The label is the first thing you notice: it lists everything, from ingredient provenance to distillation technique, with none of the usual mystery. The spoiler is simple. A column-distilled French wheat spirit is redistilled with Balkan juniper, Spanish citrus peel, and a classic supporting cast of botanicals, then proofed with Icelandic water and bottled at 45% ABV — the strength serious London Dry used to be before most big brands watered down. Expect a bright, clean nose of piney juniper and fresh citrus zest, opening into a crisp, dry, textbook palate with juniper firmly in charge, coriander spice, and a lemon-orange lift, finishing long and clean. It's built for the classics: a Martini, a G&T, a Negroni, a Tom Collins — anywhere a bartender wants a juniper-forward gin with real proof behind it. VinePair's verdict on the 45 bottling: one of the best affordable gins on the market, and it's hard to argue. A gin named for a tree that holds up the universe, priced like a house pour.Buy Askur Yggdrasil Nordic Inspired London Dry Gin online with fast shipping right to your door.
