Pet Supplies ｜Buffalo Trace White Dog Mash #1

White Dog is Buffalo Trace bourbon before the barrel — Mash Bill #1 straight off the still at 125 proof, the same new-make that becomes Buffalo Trace, Eagle Rare, and George T. Stagg after years in oak. The Frankfort distillery on the Kentucky River is the oldest continuously operating distillery in America, and Harlen Wheatley has been master distiller since 2005; White Dog is his window into the recipe. Mash Bill #1 is the low-rye recipe — Kentucky corn, Minnesota rye, and North Dakota malted barley, believed 10% rye or less — sour-mashed with limestone water from the site, double-distilled through the column and doubler, and bottled unaged at 125 proof (62.5% ABV), the barrel entry proof, in a 375ml. The Whiskey Shelf, tasting the distillery's white dogs side by side, found the mash bills open on sweet, creamy, buttery popcorn, with grain, corn sweetness, and a floral, grassy edge underneath, the alcohol building on every sniff — educational content on bourbon in its most naked and vulnerable form. Expect fresh corn, cream, white pepper, a faint fruity ester, and a clean, hot finish with none of the caramel or vanilla the oak will add later. Honest note: white dog is an acquired taste — this is for the bourbon student who wants to taste what the barrel does, the home ager with a mini cask, or a corn-whiskey cocktail. Neat and cold, or in a White Dog Mule. The trace, before the barrel.Buy Buffalo Trace White Dog Mash #1 online with fast shipping right to your door.
